Memo Field Truncation During Import

Hello....

I am importing an Excel spreadsheet into Access to create a "Projects Table".

The Excel file contains a field, Project Status, that is more than 255 characters. It is defined as type "Memo" in the Access table.

When I look at the contents of the Project Status field in Excel, none of the data is truncated. But the field is truncated at 255 characters during the import process to Access, even though it is defined as "Memo" in Access.

How can I prevent the truncation from occurring?

Thank you.

Randal

I have a solution for you. Open the spreadsheet in Excel. Select the relevant values. Choose "copy". Then make go to the DB window in Access and choose tables. Right-click and choose "paste" (note: do NOT choose "import"). You should produce a new table with all of your data. Access should make the big field a memo field.

I tested this and it worked!
