So my niece was using the word 'melty' as an adjective a few weekends ago and it caused a discussion. As in, "the cheese is too melty".

Does 'melty' stand up as an adjective? I only realized it is used commonly after the discussion... I've heard it a number of times now in unrelated conversation.

alway's alluding to the "British" sport of "kick-ball" seems to invade most posts. If it were a hot day, would the ball become too "melty" to play with? Would sweat-laden socks {hose, for the Brit's} cause your feet to be "swelty"?

The Y addition makes for a "like" descriptive.
Kids are tired of hearing "like" as much as adults.
And dont forget the current abomination of the language: texting! abreviated-speak is the norm.

hose, for the Brit's

I should think the use of hose for socks went out of common Brit use quite some time ago. Certainly the only regular association I think of when hearing the word is of the ladies tights variety, as in panty-hose (or is it panti-hose?).

I want to be good, is that not enough?

or is it panti-hose?"

I think the proper term these days is "annoyance."
