Hi all -

I'm trying not to be too dense here (for a change) - but I've noticed several calls to a Meet-Me bridge end up in the bridge's Voicemail box. (VMPro system).

The callers sound "lost" - silencce, hitting phone buttons, or saying "Hello?" - etc. Obviously expecting to be in conference.

Presumption is that callers eventually figure it out and call back in (not a great scenario).

Should the voicemail box for a conference bridge be disabled? Is there a better solution? Anyone else seen this issue?

And apologies if the question has been asked before - I found thousands of threads but no close matches.

Thanks in advance!

Explain how you have it configured (don't spare the details, we love em) :)

It sounds like the same bug as when you use call recording where you get a prompt to enter your mailbox number to both the calling party and the called party.

I recently had a similar issue when i changed the VMPro callflow while there where ports in use.
The next caller got "enter your mailbox number" while the called the main number (going to a module)
Unfortunately i could not replicate it anymore.

So what version are you using?
Do you use call recording somewhere?
Did you change the callflow?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Good morning,
Thanks for your replies and sorry about my slow response (been fighting other battles and I'm sure you know that feeling :)

Not sure about how call flow's set up (sorry - I'm one of those Nortel converts and I'm still larnin'!) - but here are some of the details. It does seem to have a mailbox defined (is this necessary?) - anyway, if you need more details, please tell me from which screen - and in the meantime here goes! Thanks in advance! -

I think that you're confusing Meet Me Conference Bridge with a B179 SIP station that happens to be a speakerphone. Even though a B179 speakerphone may be a participant in a conference call, other participants should not be dialing the extension associated with the B179 speakerphone. Other participants should dial whatever shortcode you create to access a conference bridge.

Mforrence - yes! you're right, I was confusing them. I'll try to get details in a bit...

Hi again -

OK a few more details. Interestingly, I found an excellent tip on bridge setup at and I'm seeing that our vendor followed very little of it.

More specifically, our ICR destination is '1306 Bridge', with Voice Recording options Recording Inbound - None, Record Time Profile - None, Recording (AUTO) - Mailbox. There are no additional modules defined in VMPro for bridges (our only modules are Auto Attendants). There are no User Variables defined in VM Pro.

I like the features that were set up in the above tip (ours is just a basic "Welcome to conference" wav).... but is it worth the trouble to change it - now that management has figured out how to use the one that's already there?

Would these differences explain what's going on with our voice mail issue? What would you do? Start over and define it like in that tip?

Thanks again and thanks for your patience - please keep your ideas coming!
regards,
