Media Pools

Can anyone give me any tips on creating Media Pools. I would like to know the proper way to create Media Pools.

Go to Media Pools, - name it (no spaces in the name) then format some tapes with names (Mon,Tues, etc) right-click on the tape name after formatting & assign them to the save set. Give the tape a 5 or 6 day expiration to make them available to the scratch set for re-use. Hope this helps.

Hi GSZ11,

I'd recommend NOT using media pools if you can as you can run into all sorts of additional problems (the biggest being trying to setup your data storage retention / corrupt pool databases).

Is there a reason you want to use Media Pools specifically? There are a few other ways around them if you plan it correctly.
