media player-dvd pause when playback

i hv Xp.& when playback of a movie on media player it freezes after 3 mins.i hv to shut down media pplayer& restart to continue from where it left.
it is highly frustrating especially when watching a good movie.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Media Player and re-install from the WinXP CD.

Check out your decoder. If you are an upgrade to XP some old decoders don't work and you need an XP one. See the article for where to look for a new decoder.
