Hi

When i run my backup i get the message:

Do you want to overwrite imported media 'Friday'?

Media Overwrite Protection is configured to prompt before overwriting imported media.

Respond Yes to overwrite the media.
Respond No to use other media.
Respond Cancel to cancel the operation.

I just want it to overright evernight, without prompting me.
I can't see an option.

I have Veritas Backup Exec for Windows servers version 9.1

create a media set container and right click on that media set - properties and configure the overwrite that way.

I think that way would give you flexibility....IMO

You are using the default media overwrite settings. These settings are configurable during and after install. You do not have to create a new media set, you can reconfigure your settings now. There is a Wizard that can walk you through this in the Tools, Options Tab.

What setting did you use?

Infinite - Dont allow overwrite is current setting,

Years?

All,

I ran into this same issue after reinstalling BE 10D. I have attached a screenshot showing where to click for those that are looking for a quick fix (and don't like hunting).

As said before, Tools --> Options

where were you a few months ago?!

that was my end result, seems media settings drive off of the global setting you identified.

Also... if BU fails on corrupt files (seems to be open emails, not actually corrupt) you can make it report incomplete instead of failed...

1. Run REGEDT32.EXE
2. Browse to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup
3. In the right window, double-click Fail Jobs on Corrupt Files
4. In the DWORD Editor dialog box change the Value Data to 0 (zero)
5. Click OK
6. Exit Regedt32
