I use Netbackup sever 5.1 on Solaris 9. I can not configure device since it can not detect device. When testing devices using "Drive Diagnostics", it failed at "Basic Test", show error information "Could not find label on media".
In "Device Monitor", "Media Label" shows a dash (-). How can I label media?

You need to fix your solaris issues before netbackup is going to work. Try sgscan to see what is attached.

I checked sgscan, no warning is shown. Also I have installed and reconfigured sg driver. The library informaiton is as following:

media ID: 000003
media type: 8MM cartridge tape(4)
barcode: A0000003
media description: Added by Media Manager
volume pool: NetBackup (1)
robot type: TL8 - Tape Library 8MM (6)
robot number: 0
robot slot: 1
robot control host: ermesx
volume group: 00_000_TL8
