Hi
I am not able to do an update inventory for my tapes.
It says "media ID not unique in database (34(
I remove the tapes from the library then I reset the library which forces it to do a scan and build the physical inventory. Then I inventory the robots with the netbackup application. I then inject the tapes into the library. That's didn't solve the problem when I did the inventory again (after putting the tapes back) the error showed up again and I don't know what to do next, the tapes have data
Any idea?

What version of netbackup?

Does your robot scan barcodes? You sure you don't have 2 duplicates?

netbackup 5.1 and yes the robot scan barcodes and there is no 2 duplicates

How many tapes do you have? If not very many, I recommend trying one at a time until you find the culprit.

There also could be a problem with the robot. Typically you will see the barcode of the problematic tape and that "(34(" does not look like a good barcode.

No the error number is 34 not the barcode
anyway I had to reconfigure everything again
thanks
