How do I install Windows Me onto a fresh Hard disk without Windows 95? I have got win 98 however. I didn't get any installation instructions with the software because it was bought as OEM.

if you find out let me know mate i've got the same prob i don't know if i can just install me over 98

1. Have a floppy that allows you to access cdrom in dos.
2. Xcopy the cabs to directory c:\w9xcd.
3. Place the "upgrade elgible product" (Win98/95,depending
on your upgrade disk) CD into the CDROM.
4. Change directory to c:\w9xcd.
5. Type setup
6. When ME is checking for "ugradability", point it to
your CDROM and "Win" directory.... i.e. D:\win98.
7. Continue on.

Is the CD not bootable? Otherwise, create a boot floppy, then partition and format your HDD, install the CD Rom drivers, re boot and then run setup from the ME CD

ALL upgrade versions have the full version of ME.Just log on to your cd rom runset up . It will ask for the 98 or 95 cd.
