Does anyone have setup info for the MDR2000e? I can get into configuration but don't see anything about the ethernet port. Trying to use this between opt81 and OTM.
Thanks

Why do you want to use it between the Opt 81 and the OTM?
OTM stores it in it's own database file.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

The OTM being offsite from this OPT81 is not direct connected. The MDR2000 will store the records till OTM retrieves them.

Thanks acewarlock I have that manual but don't see any mention of the IP settings.

I've never seen one with a RJ45 IP connection only RJ11 Telephone and serial port connector on them.

Try Telneting to it, setup a dummy IP in your PC with the MAC address of the MDR box (make sure it's a free IP address)

On your PC or Laptop

CMD prompt

Example:
> arp -s 157.55.85.212 00-aa-00-62-c6-09 .... Adds a static entry.

I found the IP but Telnet fails. Is there a certain port or other command needed?

try 3000

I think it's on page A-3 in the manual

To setup Temp IP on MDR box
C:\telent 192.146.151.245 1 <--not a type for the extra digit 1 "this will fail:

then

c:\telnet 192.146.151.245 9999 (then hit enter...)

use and IP address part of you subnet that is free, the above one is an example... good luck.

Thats the problem. No manual.

1, arp the mac address (it's on the MDR box)
example:
c:\arp -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 00-aa-bb-cc-11-22 zz.zzz.zzz.zzz

xxx=temp MDR IP (your choice) zzz= your PC IP. Mac address of mdr in the middle as above.

2.
c:\telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1 (this will fail)

3.
c:\telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 9999

4. once connected hit enter.

That's what i needed, thanks so much.
