Hello Everyone,

I developed a database in Access that allows employees to keep track of hours (Time-In, Time-Out). I used database splitter and the tables reside on the server and an MDE file resides on the workstations. I developed this in Access 2000 (Office 2000 pro). All of the workstation, except two, are running the same version. The other two are running Office XP pro (Access 2002) and my MDE database on those particular two, are not working correctly. Is there something preventing code to run in the newer version of Access?

Much thanks in advance!

Tanya

Yeah, you need to compile a separate MDE for the 2002 users. I'm 99% sure that 2002 won't open a 2000-format MDE file.

How do I compile for 2002 users. I didn't see that option in the script editor?

Hey Thank again for your respond!

Four steps:

1. Keep a backup of your 2000 version of the MDB somewhere. Somewhere else.

2. Go to a workstation running 2002. Open the 2000 MDB in the 2002 version of Access.

3. Convert the 2000-version MDB to a 2002-version MDB.

4. Now convert the 2002-version MDB to a 2002-version MDE.
