Hi all,
I just got done messing around with my mdb and tried to save it. Of course I got the backup question and I put the file on my Thumb drive. Then I saved it again with the regular file name. I copied the file to the server.
Now not one of these files will let me do anything. Right clicking any field in in a form in Design Mode only selects it. It does not get the popup to select anything. Right-clicking on the title bar does nothing. I get almost nothe in the main menu bar to select. I looked at the file properties and it's not Read-Only.
Fortunately, I did copy the original before I started changing the mdb, but I really would like to save several hours work.
Any suggestions besides sticking my head in a bucket of whatever. I'll bet it's something really simple, like me.
TIA,

Any chance you saved it as an .mde not mdb?
Any chance you changed the start up options to dissallow toolbars?

Hi MajP,
You might be right about the startup options. The problem is, opening the database only gives me File, Window and Help on the Menu Bar. I can't get to anything that I know f (which isn't much) to correct it. Any suggestions

That sounds like you set the startup options to "no" on "allow full menus". The easy way to fix this would be to creat a new mdb and then import everything into it from your current mdb

Better yet, Try holding down the shift key then open the database. This should bypass the startup options.

Good luck.

Thanks MajP,
Both of your last posts were on the money. I had turned off the full menus on startup, thionking that I was restricting other users. Forgot that I was blocking myself too. Holding the shift key when opening bypassed the startup options and allowed me to chnge them.
Youp help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
