Hi to all

I look after a BC11 site which has two OWS operators and a DBC213 for standby. The problem is that if any of them dial an internal extension, you do not hear ringing tone, only silence. When the called party answers however, speech is fine. Ringing tone is heard fine when making a PSTN call.

Interested for any answers obviously.

Many thanks

gedii.

Is the called party busy ? Check out ASPAP:pARNUM=30;

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that the calls are to positively free extensions.
.

I had the same problem and my ISP needed to do a RFEXI which fixed the whole thing. Something was hanging they said.

I can certainly try that this evening and see what happens tommorrow. Thanks again.

If there are any other relevant responses from anyone else, I'd be grateful to know.

Hi

You should also checkout OPISS... 'Operator instrument status set'

OPISS:DIR=xxx,MODE=1;

This will provide tones.

Isinor is correct.
The OWS and DBC213 all provide visual feedback for the call progress if Mode = 0. (default)

Mode = 1 is for the visually impaired, it provides the same visual feedback plus special audible tone indications.

I've seen this.

Try this,

on the keyboard you have a ring left and ring right button (from memory), when tapping out the extension, try hitting ring left, belive you should then hear ringing

I did misunderstand the question . I thought you meant ringing tone for the calling party having been extended by the operator and not the ringing tone for the operator itself. The latter is done with OPISS ....
This was what I experienced and had to to RFEXI.

Sorry .

I have to agree with jay944,

tapping the extension number only reserves the line, you have to tap "ring lef/right" button to make the extension ring, this feature is usefull to see wether the extension is busy or not, if the extension is busy you can intrude the call via the ring button (depends on ASPAC parameter)

greetings,

I tested the OPISS with OPI 3214 operator console, and call progress tone indication was indeed controlled by this command.

whosrdaddy , what is the ASPAC to not allow intrusion ?

To shaun123 : yes I do...

To duvel : the ASPAC I referred to was ASPAC 36. this is offcourse only for extensions that are busy with an external party

greetings,

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

I tried an RFEXI....no change.

I tried OPISS to MODE 1 but that, whilst giving the ringing tone to the operator, introduces all sorts of other audible tones such as when calls join the queue. These they don't want (No pleasing some!) I'm after a compromise then if there is indeed one.

Thanks

Hey gedii,

didchya try a full power down as well <grins> :) LOL

sorry, small joke, as soons as I hear someone doing a refexi ! any faults we had which PSG/tech support coulndt fix, they try "have you buttoned the lim" or done a "refxi" ?

sorry mate not laughing at ya, just laughing with ya

As far as I remember and am aware, this is standard, its not a fault, no work around, this is how the system works

are you sure the operator makes the call like he should? (i mean form the number and tap the ring left key?)

please respond,

In my last post I just wanted to point out that that is a RINGBACK TONE problem and not a RINGING problem (forget rfexi, OPISS and that sort off bull***) . From what I make up from gedii's post, is that it's a user problem...

greetings,
