Hi MD experts!
Perhaps question is simply but I have no experience with this topic.

Will MD110, which was working in USA, work in Poland? Are there difference, which make it impossible ?

antek

No they use different coding for voice. Though the hardware and license is the same so you need to change to the application system that is valid for Poland.

Hi
what is the trunk line hardware in U.K. is it TLU75?
is there any hardware designed specially for special market?

Thanks

Hi Antek
I see two problems
1 Power
In Europe (Poland too) power is 230V 50Hz and in US 115V 60Hz and AC/DC units for MD are not universal (115/230).
If You have Alex you can find more info about differences in power module for this markets.

2 Cordless
Standard for Europe is 1800 MHz and for US 1900 MHz.
This US base station and handset have not certificate for Europe.

Also, in Europe EDSS1 protocol for PRI is used, based on ETSI standards. In US, I think, not. DSS1 based on ... what? Though, imho, basically DSS1<->EDSS1 connection will work?

And, of course E1 vs T1 (32 time slots vs 23 time slots).

Sorry, 24 time slots and bit stealing in US.

Hi Hirei
You have a right but is software problem and fidde have right too
I still thing that a [problem is with hardware

Hi, rfpui,
of course, HW.
SW, may be too... And, if change HW and going legal, licences?

Hi Hirei
Good question about license.
EIC number have two parts, second part it is individual customer number and first part it is market code. For example 01-1234 it is license for standard application You know that this EIC code is stored on NIU board too. And I don’t know how works this EIC control system.
For example Application System Standard (used in Poland ) and license for example 03-1234 (I don’t know AS code for US) theoretically it can’t work because AS is for other marked as code in license file.
So after transfer MD from US to Poland, AS standard should be loaded to MD, new license is needed and new NIU board or specialist who know how change EIC number on NIU board.

It is question for local Ericsson vendor “how to buy new license without new MD”

normally this can be done without any cost, IF the pbx belongs to same customer (eic code is xx-yyyy where xx is country or AS and yyyy is customer number)

Hi again

Hi whosrdaddy I was waiting for your opinion. You are an Expert

I like Alex and I find code for the application system North America
AS Code = 30
And I find some differences between AS Standard and North America
For example
Amplification/attenuation

AS Standard
Amplification/attenuation
STANDARD law of companding A is used in this application system.
The speech signals can be amplified or attenuated when passing through the switch. The following line types exist which are equal to the value found in the TRM-parameter.
[tt]
TRM Line type
0 Analogue/digital extension lines, IP extensions, PABX operator lines
1 Reserve
2 Reserve
3 Reserve
4 Analogue external line
5 Digital external line
6 2-wire tie line
7 4-wire tie line
[/tt]
AS North America
Amplification/attenuation
USA law of companding MY is used in this application system.
The speech signals can be amplified or attenuated when passing through the switch. The following line types exist which are equal to the value found in the TRM-parameter.
[tt]
TRM Line type
0 Digital extension lines, PABX operator lines, IP extensions
1 Special setup for 203 Phones
2 Analogue on premise Ext. (ONS)
3 Analogue off premise Ext. (OPS)
4 Analogue tie Trunk (A/TT)
5 Digital tie Trunk (D/TT)
6 Analogue external Trunk line (A/CO)
7 Digital external Trunk line (D/CO)
[/tt]
The next what I find is Span Converter
Copy from Alex:
The Span Converter is a K2 board designed to provide carrier adaptation between T1 transmission (1.544 Mbit/s, PCM24) and E1 transmission (2.048 Mbit/s, PCM30, CEPT). The primary purpose of the board is to provide inter-LIM (or Group Switch) communication utilizing T1 public access network. Basic signaling transmission provided by the group switch modules is E1, providing frame and service information in channel 1 (time slot 0). In North America, however, transmission over the digital public network requires T1 transmission.

to antek :

small recap : you need new software (other AS), this means new license, new PSU hardware and maybe some new TLU hardware to make external lines work. I don't think you will gain much from moving the pbx to poland. IMHO I think it will be faster AND cheaper to install a new system in poland...

Daddy have always right
To Antek
It is no problem to buy MD in Poland and it is the best way.

To daddy:
I thing that TLU board can be this same. Difference can be with strap or EPROM

rfpui,

about the TLU hardware, I was reffering to the fact that the external line type may not be the same (like analog versus ISDN).

cheers
