I have inherited a MD110 system. (think it might be a BC8?)
There's an Ericcson modem hanging off the end.
I've tried connecting to this, using hyperterminal, but it comes up blank after it connects, and nothing echos to the screen. I'm using a vt100 term type and connecting using 7-E-1.(have tried 8-N-1 also)
I've tried connecting from the term window, and it comes up "Connected 9600, V42bis", but then nothing, and doesn't echo anything I type to the screen.
I've also traced where it goes to on the PBX and found the serial connection beside it. Tried that direct into the back of the laptop, (using an extra DB25 to DE9 cable) hyperterm and direct to COM1, again using 7-E-1 and 9600baud.(have tried 8-N-1 also)
Still nothing.
Am I missing anything obvious?
Thanks

Hello.

Try 9600 bps / 8-N-1.

Send some "S" , i.e. SSSSS;

And the system will respond with "ENTER PASSWORD".

Enter your password and you are logged on.

Hi doktor,
That worked a treat.
Unfortunately the password I had is wrong,
I'm going back to the people who used to support the box for us, and asking what they set it to,
Thanks for you help,
Def

OK. The password is of course necessary!
