I am assigned to figured out the problem with our Ericsson MD110 BC12. I know almost nothing about PBX, but I have ALEX, and could not do much with it since I am a novice in this field. The old expert left and took all document with him, I guess.
In general, the voice is OK. But we got some problem dial in and out. The provider told us that they could not receive any information from our side except the called number (B-party). Besides, the CLI number they got on their test phone is the CLI they assigned to our main PBX, 999-9999-9999! They said the problem is on our side.
Could anybody help me with this. Thanks

I guess the short answer is to leave it set that way - I assume that "hardcode the PRE" means you put both the area code and the office code in front of the ext in the NUTRI entry. If that method achieves the desired results and your outbound calls complete successfully, then it's not necessarily "wrong" to do it that way.

Without seeing the LCR entry for the number you dialled, along with the dest code used by that entry, it's difficult to say......

Unless you know the correct signal trace & how to read the result, the only way to be sure what your MD is sending out is to monitor the D-channel with a protocol anlyzer and look at the setup message for the call. If you can't get your hands on one, ask the CO guys to show you a trace from one of your calls.

Good luck,

The above line may have some significance

> Progress Description: Origination address is non ISDN
> Calling Party Number
> Type of number: National number
> Numbering plan: ISDN/telephony numbering plan
> Presentation indicator: Presentation allowed
> Screening indicator: User-provided, verified and >passed

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You may need to add an NUTRI entry: (this is reference to my statement above)

NUTRI:ENTRY=100,CNVTYP=1,NUMTYP=11,PRE=379;

> Called Party Number
> Type of number: National number
> Numbering plan: ISDN/telephony numbering plan
> Digits: 2409100303
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Is this the number you meant to dial??

I see that your DEST code is 240 and your LCR entry is 0240,

Is the number your are trying to dial 240-910-0303?
If this is correct, then your call likely is failing because you've formatted the calling number as "National" but are still sending ony 7 digits.

You could also build your calling line info all in NUTRI:
NUTRI:ENTRY=100,CNVTYP=1,NUMTYP=10,PRE=301379;

You'll have to end the existing entry for 100 (NUTRE:ENTRY=100;)

Good Luck,

Dave Strang
