I'm running windows prof, my probably is mcafee came with the computer, I tried to disable it because I installed norton, now every time i get on the computer i get this error message. mcshield.exe has generated a error.

I would mean you haven't uninstalled it properly. Try the manual uninstall procedures found in the FAQs.

what version Engine are you running, theres a hot fix for the 4160 engine available from the mcafee site.

The error occured after updating my DAT files.

See my post in a earlier forum (search for AVSync) and look at the last post, only if you are using Virus Scan 4.5 and engine version 4160.
