How many Exams are there to write to get MCSD ? What are the core subjects and what are elective ? Is there a site where I can read about both core and electives ? Thanking you in advance. Gettingthere

Thanks JONSCOTT8 that was helpful. What is the recommended order to take the courses ?

AFAIK, there is no recommended order. Some MCSDs will offer suggestions as to what order you should take them, but it really doesnt matter as long as you pass them all.

IMO, take the tests in the order you feel most confident you can pass them. Save the tests you feel less confident about for last. Jon Hawkins

I am MCSD -- I recommend

1. VB desktop
2. VB Distributed
3. MS SQL Design and Implement
4. Analyzing Requirement and Solution Architecture

I took 4,3,1,2

GettingThere,

As JonScott8 says, you should take the exams in the order that you feel most confident. Obviously if you are very strong in VB, then go for those first.

However, if you have a strong background in theoretical things like project lifecycle and database design, you could well find that 70-100 is a nice easy-ish one to get out of the way first and get you in the swing of it.

You don't need questions
You need answers.

I am an MCSE NT4 simply looking for a new direction since MCSE at best only provides entry level positions. I want much more then that. x-)
