Hello Group,

Does anyone have the MCS5100 installed? What are you using it for. How is the administration of the hardware/software. I have attended the training class for the 5100 but have not had much sucess with pulling the users over to using the dang thing. Has anyone else had better sucess and what is the driving application?

Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,

I had a test installation and a similar problem like you. Apart from some strange behavior of the MCS in combination with the CS1K, the users denied to use this application.

I presume the potential users are still playing with there game consoles (ICQ, Skype Generation) at home. We decided to start all over it when they are grown up and got to work every morning.

I have a site that uses the MCS5100 and love the features. The killer app is the find-me-follow-me routing ability on it. They are not easy to set up, but once working, adding users is a dawdle.

good luck , I also implemented a 5100 that was removed due to inactivity. The best use was also the follow me forward feature. We messed with outlook conferencing but cisco did it better. The other features were toys and not practical
especially when others users staus was always logged out.

Yea, that is what I am running up against. The routing table is nice but thats about it. We have a use for the video conferencing but only for one specific user. Other than that not much. I have even setup MCS to auto launch when the user logs in, but they just end the application. Thanks all for the input.

Phil
