We have a small Help Desk set up consisting of six 3904 phones. Each contains a unique extension number and rollover for the individual, as well as two appearances of the MCR Help Desk extension.

How would I go about forwarding that MCR line to an outside line after hours? Just forwarding the phones doesn't seem to forward the MCR appearances.

Here is the typical programming for one of the phones:

The phone with the MARP on it beside the MCR key would control it. What you might want to consider though is installing possibly an analog station, with the MCR on it MARP'd. This way the users can still forward their individual phones to other number/voice mail as needed, and at the end of the day the last to leave can forward the analog with the MCR to what ever number you need it to go to. This can be a digital phone too if you want or even a virtual ext they can access to forward it. Having a physical phone there though will serve as a reminder to them to make sure it is forwarded.

When the phone below (which contains the MARP appearance) is Call Forwarded, it has no affect on the Help Desk line. If there are active agents, the Help Desk appearance on their phones ring. If all agents go on Make Set Busy, calls go to voice mail instead of the Forwarded To number.

This is a separate phone, one not belonging to any of the agents.

Try making the hunt and FDN the number you want it to go to. That way when all other phones go to MSB it should follow that path and not to vmail (I assume 2500 is your vmail) I do see the phone has no # after the CFW key, did you enter a number or just try to press the forward button?

I took the forwarding number out of what I posted because it's an outside line (someone's cell phone). But it was there when I tested it and it failed.

Is that the issue - because I'm forwarding to an outside line? I can't program the Hunt and FDN to be an outside line.

Make the MCR key 0 and MARP on one of the phones, then you'll be able to forward.

Do like trvlr1 said to do by making a 500 set with the MARP on it and forward it to the Cell. make sure it has CLS XFA, NCOS that can make a call to the cell and in the CDB CFF instead of CFO. use the 500 set to do the forwarding off site.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

That's CLS CFXA

That first phone u printed out, make the following changes

KEY 00 MCR 2239 0 MARP
CPND
NAME HELP DESK
XPLN 9
DISPLAY_FMT FIRST,LAST
01 MCR 2239 0 MARP
CPND
NAME HELP DESK
XPLN 9
DISPLAY_FMT FIRST,LAST
02 MSB
03 SCR 2519 0 MARP
CPND
NAME EMPLOYEE NAME
XPLN 14
DISPLAY_FMT LAST,FIRST
04 SCR 3519 0 MARP
CPND
NAME EMPLOYEE NAME
XPLN 14
DISPLAY_FMT LAST,FIRST

CLS CFXA

Make those changes, then you'll be able to forward your helpdesk calls from this phone.

And CDB CFF instead of CFO

Thanks to all who assisted!

I changed the extensions around on the x2097 side phone so that the MCR line was on KEY 0 and made sure it was a MARP appearance. Now the Call Forwarding is successful.

Remember Call Forward All Calls is not affected by MARP.

To CFW a DN, it must meet one of these conditions on the TN that wants to CFW it:

1. it is KEY 00 (or the DN if a 500 set is CFWing) and may appear on other phones.

or

2. it is not KEY 00 but has only one appearance in the system, that being the TN that wants to forward it.

You solved your issue by making it meet #1 above.
