In order to get the MSDBA cert in addition to the SQL tests you also have to pass a server OS exam (290, 291 or 215) and an elective exam (there are a lot to choose from). The electives are related to network design or programming.
One of the elective exams is 293 which relates closely to the 291 exam. Both 291 and 293 build greatly on the 290 exam. If you can pass the 293 exam you shouldn't have any problems passing the 291 exam as about 85% of the 291 exam is a subset of the 293 exam.
If you take the classes for the 293 exam and you get a good grasp on the concepts and put in some serious lab time building and rebuilding domains then you shouldn't have any problem with the 291 and 293 exams.
