Is there a way in the embedded VM to remove the prompt that comes up after someone presses # to skip the mailbox' greeting?

It's quite simple in the Nupoint, put can't seem to find this option through either the MCD manager or the administrative mailbox.

thanks.

Default answer to EMEM questions is no it can't do that

What I thought and why I didn't bother looking for hours for it in the docs.

Thanks for the post

actually you can, but it is kludgy
Access the System Administrator's mailbox using the TUI

Press [2] for the Edit Mailbox menu.

Enter the mailbox number to edit.

Press # repeatedly until prompted to enter a Technician's function code.

Enter the desired Non-busy option from the table above.
enter 1 to eliminate the prompt you mentioned

The Technician's function code prompt repeats. Enter the desired Busy option from the table above.
enter 5 to make the same as non-busy - eliminates the busy greeting
Repeat for other mailboxes are required.

Im not sue that the prompts being removed above are the ones in question but it can't hurt to try

I just remembered I usually press a second #

I'm on site trying that method; and what is the table above you're refering to?

the TUI is accessed via the Admin Mailbox - typically 9999

I know that, but he refers to a table; after multiple # presses until prompted for a technician code, all 3 codes (admin, manager and tech) are invalid, even though I use them to login MB 999.

After that it says 1 has been deleted, and I think it deleted the user's greeting, not the system greeting that I was refering to; I think he didn't get my question.

Like you said, probably nothing that can be done.

When it says 'Enter Technician's Function code' it is looking for one digit - do not enter the passwords for admin, manager and tech. It sounds like you may have deleted a mailbox....

The first time it says 'Enter Technician's Function code' just press 1
The second time it says 'Enter Technicians Function code' just press 5

The above will always play the no/answer greeting then beep....

Thanks lowrad for making it clearer. Works like a charm :)
