I am connecting an Ipocket to my MCD 5.0 to test some PMS functions and the challenge I am having is for the MCD to see the Ipocket. I have given the Ipocket a static IP of 192.168.3.247 and programed the Ipocket ethernet the same but when I try to ping the Ipocket from the maintenance commands there is no response. Any ideas as to what I am missing? If I connect a computer to the same line and give it an IP address of 192.168.3.247 I can ping it.
thanks in advance.

why do you need the i-pocket to respond to a ping? The ipocket just runs a telnet session to the Mitel via the details you configure in its config. How are the two connected? Via a switch/hub/direct?

I connected the Ipocket and the PMS shows down, I am using a PMS simulator that works on a 200ICP, so thought to trouble shoot I could ping. I used the settings in the help files to setup the Ipocket. I setup a static IP to the Ipocket, used port 15374 in the IPocket. I set in the Hotel Options for the PMS connectivity to "Network" and not sure of anymore programing I need to do. This is my first PMS on the MCD, done lots on the 200ICP.

There are 2 Hotel options

- set the Property Management System Installed field to "Yes"
- set the PMS Connectivity field to "Network".

Can you send a screen shot of the precidia settings?

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

thanks for the reply kwbMitel, I have those two settings set as you have indicated. I have tried a number of settings on the Preidia and this is one of them:

Protocol should be 'telnet' (clt)
Connection Control should be 'automatic'
Terminal Type should be VT100
Local port should be 15734
Remote IP should be 3300 RTC address

thanks bobcheese, are you sure the local port is 15734 and not 15374?

I tried that and no go, the help files on the MCD show the settings different that what you have noted and I have tried both. Do you have one working with your settings?

I have these options set and have created a static IP, no licensing is required as I understand it for just PMS without voicemail option:
set the Property Management System Installed field to "Yes"
set the PMS Connectivity field to "Network".

bobcheese are you sure the local port is 15374 and not the remote port like the docs say?

The pms simulator I am using works on the 200ICP but I will try the one you sent, thanks for that.

set the ports as indicated and still no go, I got to be missing something

ok forget ipocket lets get this working on simulator. if PMS is set up for pbx then all is needed is LAN & conectivity

if PMS is setup for pbx" exactly what do you mean by that?
Am i correct in assuming there is no licensing involved here?

is there somewhere in the 3300 program where I have to point the PMS to the static IP I created?

no, 3300 receives connection it does not create a connection. The iPocket connects to the PBX not the other way around

I have to use the Ipocket for this installation, I have the two options enabled as indicated and I have a static IP for the Ipocket, it shouldn't be this tough, must be me. When I connect the PMS simulator I see it sending ENQ but no replies.
