Y'know...we all roll with Mitel's release advancements thinking the whole world is rosy...until we delve a bit deeper. We are having an upgrade to MCD 4 and are losing our Ent and Ops Manager. How easy it was in Ops Man to hop onto Directory Manager "one stop shop" to change user profiles (In my case to activate/de-activate diverts for users). There is no equivalent form in the MN3300 interface. The only way I can achieve this is to set diverts in Call Rerouting First Alternative or use Call forwarding third party Feature Access Codes and cancellation codes to do this. also it would appear that this can only be remotely set for "Follow me" and not for "busy" and "no answer". I will now have to go to the IP device to set them manually. Im I missing something here or is this a backward stepand a wee bit regressive. methinks that end user education in the three divert types and the use of FAcodes is in order!

I think you may have been miss sold. Mitel has said from the beginning that customers wanting to keep their Ent/Opsman can do so and wait for Rel 5.0.

Rel 5.0 is where, Mitel are moving opsman features into the MCD software. I hear you what features, well I haave tried to get this answered, but am failing.

So it is just a case of watch this space.

what version are you on? 4.0 you should have been able to keep ops man only 4.1 where it is unavailable.

Yep...it is 4.1.
I just feel that not enough thought was given to administrators who will clearly have to do a bit of form hopping around the MN3300 to achieve what could be done from the single "Change User" screen in Opsman. Again I fully understand there is the Change attributes Assignment, Multiline set Key and User Config Forms but it still doesn't consolidate all the user info into a one stop shop. Sorry...just having a whinge! Roll on R5.

The user form is pretty darn close.

There may be no i in team but there are three f's in fudge off.

Check out the new form "Call Forwarding Profile" you can set station level forwarding on phones. Didn't discover it until 4.1 so I'm not sure if it was in 4.0 or not.

Thanks for this Ralph. Jeesh...How did I miss that one!, I'll have a play

Im upgrading from 9.0 to 4.0 tomorrow.... Any sneaky things to look out for?

The Interface keeps the same basic structure and all the forms are still there with a few additions. Mitel have re-named some of the forms and seemed to have dropped the "assignment" off the end of some. You also see a little Green/yellow arrow icon against Forms which are included in the SDS. New stuff worthy of a peep are Ring Groups (system and personal) and ACD Express. The grouping of Folders and their sub folder consituents in the "explorer view" have been more logically placed and some have been renamed. I found I have had to hunt around a little but they are all still in there...Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply

it doesnt spring any nice surprises during the upgrade then?

The only thing of note i would say if your still using Ent/Ops man with MCD 4.0 (not possible 4.1 upwards), when you first log in to the 3300 after inital install, a pop-up will ask if you want to use SDS mode or not.

Ent/Ops man doesnt work with SDS running at the same time so we select no. Kind of obvious i know, but if you accidently go for SDS, you have to start all again!
