MCD 4.0 SP2 to MCD6

Dear people,

Maybe a simple question, i need to upgrade 2 controllers to MCD6.
They are running 4.0 SP2, the Shared Form Configuration form shows at the moment "Using Common Data Distribution".

Do i still first need to upgrade to MCD 4.0 SP4?
Or can i just upgrade directly to MCD 6?

Directly to 6.0. I have done it three times already....no problem. Make sure you have the latest soft. installer tool. Thanks.

SP4 was a load designed specifically for sites that required equipment replacement with an MXe-III.

Backup
Migration Precheck
Fix Migration issues
migrate
backup again
Upgrade to 6.0
backup again.

I'm already using common data distribution, or am i missing something?

Sorry, if the db is already migrated, then proceed.

You might want to run the command migration summary to make sure there are no issues.

It was 4.0 SP1, upgraded directly to 6.0 SP1.
Had no issues after, all went well.

As long as you are running GDM which you are by the shared info you provided you are good to go. The only reason really to go to MCD 4 SP4 is that it has some fixes included regarding SDS that might mean a safer upgrade. However many people have done the upgrade without an interm step of MCD 4 SP4 ( me included ) so you should be good.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

FYI Mitel released an updated MCD 4.0 SP 4 on 11/3/2013. It is 10.0.4.26 and has further SDS fixes for migration.

Thanks for the heads-up on the new MCD 4.0 release. I'm working on getting a very large install converted, and naturally have half the sites already upgraded to 10.0.4.24. Looks like I get to go back and bump those up to 10.0.4.26 now.
