McAfee Removal

Our IT Dept is migrating from McAfee to Symantec Antivirus. The decision to migrate was based in part on a belief that Symantec's installer would automatically uninstall McAfee first and that appears to have been an incorrect belief. How can we best automate removal of McAfee AV to prevent having to visit each workstation?
 
Thx for the reply. The version of McAfee we're running is 4.5.1 SP1.
 
Thanks again! : ) That is helpful...But here's the thing...what if I want to perform these actions on 500 workstations without having to visit each workstation. What's the best way for me to remotely, automatically remove the application?
 
Ask McAfee.
Seriously, they should have a program to do this.
Or create your own wrapper around the notes above.

 
Thx...I found a script that does the trick quite nicely! WinInstall was a good thought though and I'll certain keep it in mind for future scenarios.
