Hello

First MBG install. Customer just has a dsl connected to netgear. want to install the MBG in server-gatemode.

Running through the MSL Wizard for the WAN I get the option for PPP0E so I have entered the username and password for the ISP but it the teleworker phone wont work.

DO I need to upgrade the router with one that has three ports.

You need a router tha either has a proper DMZ and of course a public IP to go with it) that bypasses NAT for the rest of the network (or one like the Draytek 2830 (which I use) which can be simply programmed to do the same BUt needs two public IP's; but gives me the option to have NAT for my maiin network whilst having my MBG in server/gateway mode)or use a basic router to connect the dsl line and put the MBG on that and a router for the rest of the network on another port.

What I would do is:

Program your MBG as "Server and Gateway" and make sure anything between your MBG and the internet does not do anything. Let the MBG to authenticate (PPPoE credentials etc) and to be the one that holds the Public IP address.

If your netgear is an ADSL/Router make sure you set this up to work in Bridge Mode (Sometimes called trasparent mode).

This should work pretty easily, follow MBG engineering guidelines and MBG course manual. Let us know if something not working as expected.

I agree with Danramirez , bridge mode the router .

you can use the DHCP in the MSL for supplying Ip addresses .

Make sure the ADSL service has a static address though

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
