Maybe a dumb question - is it possible to download free version of SAP

I would like to llearn the basics of SAP BW and ABAP. Is there a location where I can download software to test and play with?

What is the best way to learn ABAP and SAP BW, assuming I do not have access to any SAP software at this stage?

The book "ABAP Objects" by Horst Keller & Sascha Kruger ($59)includes 2 CD's with the "Mini Basis" system. You can install this on a Win2K (or NT) machine and play with ABAP. My colleague installed it, said it was "great". It uses free MS-DataEngine (SQL) as the backend. Said it includes EVERYTHING !!! except the actual SAP datafiles needed to use any of the bread-butter SAP modules. PS. The book is very good too!
