Hey, I recently got a maxtor hdd and a compusa external enclosure...hooked it allup.. found new hardware. I saw in device manager that a yellow exclamation was over USB Mass Storage Device, ok... Says "The device cannot start" Code 10... what isgoing on> I am positive I have everything hooked up right..ok maybe its the enclosure.. popped open my computer, stuck it in as slave this time (master in enclosure) and my PC says Boot Failure and restarts over and over.. Please tell me what you think.. do you think its a bad hard drive? I ultimatly want it in an external enclosure.. Please help me out. Thanks

Strange that it would cause a reboot?? anyway did you partition and format the drive in disk management? this must be done before the drive will work properly.

My computer/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management

Then partition and format new drive
Takes a while to format
Ready to use
