Maximum number of subwebs?

Hi, I have a large website (2000+ pages), and I've divided it up into various subwebs, and today I added a new subweb (no errors), but it didn't seem to create the new subweb. I counted my subwebs and this new one is number 26, which makes me wonder if I'm only allowed 25.

I got no errors when converting the folder to a subweb, but the new subweb does not act like a subweb, but like a typical folder, it will not let me set up separate borders, themes, etc. Have I reached a limit on the number of subwebs allowed? Or is this something else?

Any advice appreciated.

I forgot to mention this is FrontPage 2002 running under Windows 98.

More info. I attempted to convert a different folder (than the one I described above) to a subweb, and this one worked. The only difference between this folder and the other one was that the successful folder only had about 10 files (pages) in it. The other one had about 30 or so pages in it, though that shouldn't matter. Why would one folder not convert to a subweb, while others will?

I think I am onto what the problem is. The folder I was converting to a subweb was named "davis", and I already had a subweb named "davis-brunswick", and I think (for some reason) the names were conflicting. When I renamed "davis-brunswick" to something else, the "davis" subweb began to work like it was supposed to.

Apparently some internal workings of FP2002 was getting confused between "davis" and "davis-brunswick" both being subwebs at the same level in the directory structure. I found a way around this by renaming one of them, but this appears to be a bug or a undocumented limitation of some sort.

In the "davis-brunswick" file, try changing the "-" to "_" and see if that makes a difference. Just a thought.

Thanks, I'll try that on the next one and see what it does. I have a few more folders that have similar names, but are not yet subwebs. They'll get converted soon, and I'll check and see if the underscore works differently than a dash.
