27 characters is the max that can be entered in LD 95.
24 characters is the max that will display on the telephone display. Less, 17 I believe, if the telphone is a M3902 or i2002, i2001 and similiar IP phone.
And I think 24 will sometime concatenate (sp) due to Reason codes, and other space taking characters.
Not that I remember much of it now, but I once OUTed every name in a switch just to reduce the CPND length, and force the admins to max length that would never wrap.
I think what you might need to do is build the longest name you can, call a variety of phones from it and see if it fits. Then tweak the name down in size until you find the perfect fit for every call type and reason codes your system has.
Note that you can't decrease the LD95 CPND Name Length unless you OUT every name first.
and you can use the out command then at dn all, we pushed ours out to 27, but as posted some sets only display 21.. btw if you use scripts, you can add a 1000 names per hour using either file merge or comma delimited files as your source..
