Maximum Alert Records

the hyperlink sent contains records that triggered the alert. the number in the maximum alerts is the maximum number of records that will be displayed in the report.
i am having trouble attaching the URL with the email. i chose the option, use default and yet, there is no URL attached. can someone please guide me?
