Probably simple but the answer is passing me by.
in 98 and XP if I "open in new window" using IE 6.0 the new window(s) always open about 1/4 the screen size.
How would I get them to be max'ed all the time?
TIA Ed

Howdy Ed:

Open a link (small size).. Now, close the ORIGINAL Windows..

Now, use you mouse and re-size the Windows to fill your screen..

Once that is done, use the File>Close option.. DO NOT "X" out !!

That and a few variations of your post didnt do it !
I've had this problem before and corrected it but ....
thanks any way Ed

Give this a whirl. This doesn't maximize as such but gives a maximum size whilst keeping the resize chevrons at the bottom right. I got fed up with IE6 forgetting what it had been taught.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Start Page"="javascript:moveTo(-4,-4);resizeTo(screen.availWidth+8,screen.availHeight+8);navigate(\"about:blank\")"

Make sure the script has a blank line at the bottom. The last line may be wrapped and ends as:
navigate(\"about:blank\")"

Hey ed;
Try this; atleast in 98 it works for me.....
Maximize the first IE6 window you open....then with your left hand "press and hold" CTRL+SHFT keys while your right hand "X"es (or closes) the window(I'm assuming you're a righty).......
If for some odd reason it don't work.....
.....after stretching the first opened 1/4 screen sized window and placing it manually...try the same key hold and close as above......
let us know...

If my memory serves me, I can always fix this by maximizing a ie windows, then closing it using File > Close (Not by clicking the x)

Thanks for the help. I hope you guys see this 'cause its been a long time since I've had a chance to get online. Not like I did'nt appreciate the help, I just was'nt around to thank you.

thanks Ed
