Hi.

I am trying to use crystal enterprise to view report and got

max processing time/max records limit reached [on cache/page server error message

if there a way to change this limit.

thanks.

Access your Crystal Management Console as an administrative account, and alter your pageserver and cacheserver settings.

Via Manage Servers, click on both pageserver and cacheserver, and increase your maximum byte allowance and your idle time.

On the Page Server command line, add this setting

maxDBResultRecords 0

The defauls is 20000 records. The 0 value will make the value unlimited anything between 1 and x will set that (x) limit.

Just to calrify on what bgoloiver mentioned. Make sure you add the command line switch like this

-MaxDbResultRecords 0

Notice the dash at the begining. If this is left out it will be ignored.

thanks so much. will try it.

Hi,

I've actually encountered a similar problem and although I can make changes to the cache and page server I'm not sure how to make the change to the command line - any advice?

Thanks,

Fran

Hi,
If Windows:
In the CCM - stop the service - right-click the pageserver service and select properties..
Place your cursor in the command-line box and scroll to the end..add the -MaxDbResultRecords 0 there and restart the service.

I have crystal enterprise version 9.0.0.287 and i am getting the "max/processing time/max records reached" error. when I go into the cystal management console, i don't have a command line that you referenced earlier under pageserver and cacheserver. When i go under the RAS server, the "Max number of Records" is already checked next to Unlimited. Is there something i'm missing? My other reports work just fine, it's where I run reports where there are thousands of records that i'm getting the error.
Thanks, Dgr

CCM not the CMC

CCM = Crystal CONFIGURATION Manager
CMC = Crystal Management Console

In the CCM, you have access to the command lines for your servers and the...let's call it 'low level' configuration of the servers.

The CMC has some ability, but remember that to make a change the server must be stopped and you can't stop (or restart) the server(s) if you are currently using them (aka the CMC)

RE Max records reached in Crystal: I have made the changes recommended in this thread and I still get the error. I'm pretty sure I'm editing the right server because I did it wrong once and got the error "Page server not available" corrected the space I had in the command line and now I'm back to max records reached.

Made the changes as noted and all working fine now. Shame that the support available through Crystal Assist doesn't provide this.
