matte WXGA vs. BrightView screen

just looking at laptop HP COMPAQ 6735b QL-60 15.4" WXGA WC 4096MB 250GB DVD+ (code KU454ES#ABB), it have good configuration/price, but comes with matte 15.4" WXGA screen. Is the matte WXGA screen the disadvantage, compare with great looking BrightView screens, which most laptops have?

It depends on what you're doing with it. The BrightView screens are what most people would call a glossy finish. They make the colors look especially bright and vivid, but because of the glossiness they also can have glare problems in sunlight or other direct light situations. The other problem with them is that if you work in graphic design or some other field where color matching is important, the increased brightness/vividness distorts your perception of the colors. Most people I know in advertising/graphic design prefer matte displays.

For my personal taste, I prefer a glossy display for my TV at home and my monitor at home (not a high light area). For my laptop I'd flip a coin probably, unless you just have to have that visual "pop".

Does glossy finish display have wider viewing angle (compared with WXGA matte), which is better for watching movies?

Trust me...go with matte...I have both and the gloss Bright View can be close to unusable in a bright room where the reflections really obscure the screen image.
