We are using Macola 7.6.300C/PSQL9. We're suddenly getting release dates on the Materials RQ by Date Report that are bizarre, such as 10/07/2002 for parts with a Due Date, for example, of 02/23/08. It happens with all parts, and we use an 80 lead time. All other data in the report is correct. I've looked at HZSHPCAL, HZSHPDTL, MSCTLFIL files and they appear to be correct. Doesn't make sense, any ideas?

When you regen, are you checking the "initialize all MRP regen files" checkbox? If not try this.

If that doesn't work, are these purchased parts, mfg parts, or both?

Did you ever resolve this?

I apologize, no this hasn't yet been resolved. The user that runs the MRP has been on vacation, so I don't know for sure if he is selecting the "initialize all MRP regen files" checkbox. He should be back on Monday, I think. I'll post back ASAP and sorry for the delayed response, I do appreciate your help.

are you using fixed or variable lead time usage in MFG setup? All days on shop calendar are open for business from now until 2008?

check the variable lead time flag. if variable, if you have lot size of lets say 10, with a required/plan order of 1000, you will end up way in the past.

We use a fixed lead time in MFG setup. I think the shop calendar shows Mon. thru Friday open for business, but I'll check that again, it could be Mon. thru Thurs.....Exact customer support is hung up on thinking the problem is a result of leap year, but they can't reproduce it. Are you aware of any leap year issues? The report is correct for Feb. 1st thru 5th, but if you skip up to what should be the 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th or 29th you get the wrong date and year reported.

Thanks again for your time, I appreciate your help.

Have you sent Exact your data yet? That is what I would push for next if they don't already have it. By your data I mean your entire database.

Guess I'll have to do that. Thanks for your assistance.

I am having the same issue with a customer in Australia. I do not believe that it has anything to do with leap year. What I found out was all items that are marked as Periods of Supply in the Order Policy field on page three of the item master, that had a Planning period greater than 23 days exibited this behavior. When I changed items to planning period less than 23 days it worked fine. The fix has been sent to me and is tested in version 7.6.400SPA. My client is currently on 7.6.300SPC they have a test box and I have sent it to them to verify that it works on 7.6.300. If you will send me an e-mail I will let you know the results. Then your reseller can get you the patch.

Steve,

Wow! I'll take that patch as well if you have it.

The cause of my issues turned out to be the Shop Calendar range extended out to a period of greater than 10 years. I had no idea it made any difference, but Exact support stated they see flakey things happening with such a range and recommend it be configured to only extend out 5-6 years. That was the fix for me so this issue is closed! Thanks for all your support.
