Using Project 2000, SR/1, (NOT using Project Central):

I'm going to be setting up a Master Schedule with several (10 - 15) sub-projects in separate files. A separate file will be the Resource Pool used by the sub-projects. A co-worker of mine *thinks* there is some sort of bug in MS Project 2000 when using a common Resource Pool.

Is anyone aware of this? Other possible "gotchas" I should know about?

Thank you in advance!

No bugs that I know of.

There have been issues with response times (particularly if several people have plans open and the plans all link to the same resource pool).

Be certain you absolutely need to have separate project files. Too often I see master projects with inserted projects and the inserted projects have 50 tasks and all plans are maintained by the same person. In cases like that, put all the info into a single plan. It's far easier to manage that way.

Thanks PDQ...

and yes, we do need separate project files. Each is its own project with several hundred tasks, managed by a different PM, set up with a separate budget, etc. All part of a larger master project...

We have had trouble defining which projects get priority over others... We can make the Pool or the first project take priority, but the priority beyond that has escaped us. Anyone know the trick? My Que Special Edition hasn't been much help.
