Hello,

We have a program that uses sendmail to notify users (sun solaris & sendmail), always with the same sender.

The only things we can modify on the program are the subject and the body of the message, and we need to have a different sender for every kind of message.

Is it possible to masquerade the sender depending on the subject? Does anybody know how a feature or how to modify the sendmail.cf file do this? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I don't think there is an build-in solution in sendmail for that. You'll have to script the program that generating the mails to be able to do that.
