Hi everyone,

I am attempting to help a friend's company out with this issue.
On printing to a dot matrix printer, a MAS 200 client does not print the first character of each line. I have swapped printers and the problem is consistent. I firmly believe it is a MAS issue. I am considering reinstalling the client. Does this seem like a reasonable solution? What should I look out for/backup/write down before I uninstall then reinstall.

Thank you,

JForsythe

I'm not sure reinstalling will solve your issue... but it is worth a try. The good news is, as far as mas 200 is concerned, you just uninstall and reinstall the client. No Data is stored there. No need to back up. However, will the same thing print fine on another workstation?

I have this same problem not printing the first char of line on a DXF 8000 Epson line printer. It started with 1 printer doing it. 2 PC could print to 1 printer and it would print fine. Then switch printers and it wouldn't print the first char. About an hour later both printers wouldn't print the first char.

I have done everything but reinstall the MAS 90 client and still have the problem. Let me know is reinstalling the MAS 200 client fixes the problem.

Well, it's good tyo know that the client install/uninstall should be relatively easy.

A little bit more explanation.

Two computers with MAS are at the checkout counter. Each prints to their own printer. One computer has no issues. The other one leaves off the first character when printing. I have swapped printers and the problem follows the computer. Printers are ok.

Thanks,

JForsythe

Can you print to the printers ok using any other windows utility?

Under Library Master/Utilities, there is a function called "Device Configurator". Setup a device to '*WINPRT*;ASIS' Name it whatever you like. Set that printer as that terminal's default printer. When you select that printer in MAS90 and click the print button, you should see the standard Windows Printer Dialog appear. Click OK on that dialog and it should print out just fine.

Good luck!
