Just a quick tip, I found out the hard way (erasing and recreating 120 mailboxes last minute friday night) that in the MAS 2.2 you cannot create the mailboxes directly in the Nupoint, imported via import_mailboxes or not... They have to be *CREATED* in the MAS users and services form. You cannot even associate an existing mailbox with MAS users that you create..

The symptom was that there is no way to change the passcode for the mailbox via the TUI...

Do you happen to know if this is a Bug that will be fixed? This seems to very strange if it is design intent.

A Star BTW as this answers an existing issue for me and MitelMark.

I spoke with a tech on 24h, so we did not elaborate, but I think I heard this is something they are working on.

Will have to check. Just setting up a system and we imported the mailboxes rather then creating in user tab.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I too will be working with one of these today.

ran into that same issue, had created a mailbox in the NPM console part of the web interface. the user could not do the enter your new password part of the tutorial. was able to create the user in the users and services interface and pick the "unassigned" mailbox though. don't remember which customer it was at the moment, so can't say for sure which version. it would be mas 2.1 or 2.2 though

Yep, if you import directly into the Nupoint and bypass the MAS interface you get this issue. You can however import mailboxes into the MAS interface which makes it about as quick as importing to the Nupoint itself.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I was in a hurry to get it to work so I did not investigate much, but I could not get the right syntax for importing a csv into the mas.. can you copy/paste a few lines of the file you made? thanks!

I did this yesterday. The MAS has an example file that you can export.

You need to setup a template for the import to use.

I needed to turn off the Single point provisioning as I already had created my phones.

The example file has 2 lines Header and data.

The data line indicates whether the field is mandatory or optional.

I imported 50 users with no issues.

I looked at the example file but I have a hard time figuring out whether I should leave the header line in or not, where to put the additional lines.

I use excel to open the csv files but it never saves properly due to some obscure setting.. For some reason it thinks a .csv is not comma-separated but semicolon separated..

I left the header in, no issues

Just read through part of the MAS I&M and there is a caution as stated:
Caution: Do not add mailboxes from the NuPoint Unified Messaging web console
interface. Only add mailboxes from the MAS Users and Services application. If you add
mailboxes though the web console, you will need to delete the mailboxes using the web
console and then add them back in using the Users and Services application.

Doesn't look like a bug.

I thought I had already posted this:

Mitel TSB - 11-5162-00134

New installs of MAS 2.2 who use import to populate the MAS database will find that after doing so, NuPoint mailbox users are unable to change their passcode from default to anything else. This same symptom will also be seen if NuPoint mailboxes are created within NuPoint rather than via MAS Users and Services.
If import was used, then the MAS account for the affected users must be deleted and recreated in MAS.
If the issue arose because the mailbox was created outside of MAS, then create a user account in MAS, and normal functionality will be restored.
Mitel is working on a solution for the importing of users into MAS 2.2.

You did but in another tread.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Product release note today:

I had this issues, but it seemed to be fixedbut adding the user into the user and services on the MAS, and then associate it to the existing mailbox that was created. Had the issue with the pin not being changed before, but after this all was ok.

I just need to find a way of not changing the users existing pin or sending the welcome email when adding the user to the MAS.

Any ideas?
