Hello

I need a way to keep users from changing the Marquee Screen Saver text, but leave the screen saver running. Disabling the Settings button would do it, if that is possible.

Thanks!

You can disable it via GPO. Remove access to the screen saver tab under control panel/display.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Hey Mark

That would work except the people need to be able to control the "require password" option on that tab. I just need that one button disabled and all the rest of the options available.

Thanks!

Why? Doesn't your company have a requirement for security to require passwords on screen savers? Seems kind of strange that you would want to lock down the text but not the security. Perhaps this would be a good time to implement a change in policy.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

This is something new we are working on. I'm sure it will change as time goes by. For now, I just need that button locked. I created a new ADM for the group policy to setup the Marquee Screen Saver, but since it is a "preference" rather than a True Policy, the users monkey around with it.
