Marketplaces vs eProcurement inhouse

I am doing a study on the benefits of joining a B2B marketplace and having an inhouse eProcurement system. I would like to know the benefits and the disadvantages of the two. If anyone knows of any white papers out there I would greatly appeciate getting ahold of them.

The Benifit of the Oracle Exchanges and I-Procurement are that the Implementation is nearly Immediate compared to 18-24 months for ERP. About the cost ask Oracle.

What I am looking for is to find information on companies that participate in both their own private e-procurement solutions and marketplaces. I need to know where the benefits overlap.
