I am having the devil's own time trying to map network drives on my XP machines. It's part of a Windows 2000 domain, and I've tried both Novell Client 4.82 and 4.83. I can ping these servers, but when I try to map to them I get a "server cannot be found" error. Is there a trick I'm missing, with domains and Novell and XP?

I have found sometimes I need to use the unc, and other times the actual ip address.

For example:

\\10.10.100.25\users\JSmith
\\FileServerF1\users\JSmith

Thats interesting..
Why don't you just use the windows map drive? Its a windows enviroment, with windows server's and windows desktop's.. why not keep it real and use the MS's tools.. You wouldn't even be able to tell the difference..

I would almost bet my labtec keyboard that that will work for ya!

snooter I should of been a doctor..

Wow, this is an old problem... what actually ended up being the problem was with the server I was trying to map to. The folks who ran it didn't bother to tell some of us who used it that the address had changed, and that some permissions had changed... part of the reason why that is now my former employer. ;-)

Thanks, tho. Jennifer Sigman
