Mapping Drive Woes..

Okay.

I have two Windows servers running Server 2003 SBS.

One is acting as the domain controller and the other is just a server for our MRP system. I'm technically not running AD on server #1, but ScriptLogic to control share drives, printers etc. It is therefore the server being used for authentication.

I need to give users access to a share that is located on the second MRP server but since they are authenticating through the first server this is proving to be challenging.

I have the permissions set on the share so Everyone can access it and when they go to manually map the drive it works fine. But I'd like to make make it more 'automatic' and have it map as soon as they login. (the reconnect at logon option never seems to work)

I try mapping the drive through ScriptLogic but when it attempts to map after the user logs on they get a 'access denied' error (eventhough as i said earlier I have the permissions set to allow Everyone to access the share, and drive for that matter)

Bottom line:

It seems as if the problem lies in the two servers not being able to talk to each other. What's the best way to 'fix' this?

I hope I've provided enough information.

Thanks a bunch.

then it's not SBS. And you can't have two SBS servers in the same domain anyways.

It is therefore the server being used for authentication.
that conflicts with the first comment.

Make the second server a member server of the domain of the true SBS server.

What I meant was I'm not using GP or anything, ScriptLogic controls everything.

I was considering joining that second MRP server to the domain, was was concerned how that would affect it 'duties' as a server. I'm waiting to hear back from the vendor.

Thanks for the reply!
