Mapping a network drive?

Hello, I have a MS 2003 DC with alot of shared folders, I'm starting to have problems with two of them. When i search for a computer and enter the server's name it pop up i can access all the drive that i want, but when i map it and try to use it, it say's "Access is denied". This problem just started happening, all the foldes have the same permisions and rights. Also any new folder that i create i can't map.

One thing to check is to make sure that the parent folder propagates permissions down to the newly created folder.

You might also try taking Ownership of the new folder, then see if you can map to it.

The Administrator has ownership over any new folders created in that directory, and all new folders take permissions from the parent. There are 20 shared folders in the root, all have the same permissions and ownership Everyone has full control. Only two of them i'll map the drive and it says Access denied. I can browse to the folder and access it fine, but not throu the map.

Are all the workstations the same ie:XP-Pro or W2K?

This sounds like a password/sharing issue.

All of the XP's and 2000's machine the users have work fine, it's any new XP machine and only two of the shared and any new folder created in 2003 server.

This really makes it sound like a permissions issue. Verify the NTFS permissions and the share permissions and report back.

All permisions and rights are the same for all foldes "everyone = full control". I unshared and re-shared and restarted the server. still having problem.

It is still unclear to me if you have verfied the NTFS permissions in addition to the share permissions.

What OTHER permissions are set? Any DENY permissions will override the everyone=full.

Furthermore, I would not recommend using EVERYONE. Use Authenticated Users instead.
