Good Morning,

I have another question about an app I want to run. I am using a customized oracle database. The executable a want to run is in the directory c:\orant\bin\infrun60.exe (this is no problem.) The problem is we custmize the exectuable to show this: c\orant\bin\infrun60.exe q:\forms\xxxx.
So what we would do in house is map everyone a "q" drive and there would be some info in that network drive we use to log them into our customized Oracle database. When I configure the citrix server up and map the q drive on it, it doesn't seem to work throught the client. I need a way for the client to vitually map a drive to our "q" but since the are not really connected to us how do I do this?

Thanks in advance,
Wes H

Much simpler to just use either UNC or the IP address, that way you don't have to worry about drive mapping, we use something like this:

\\200.0.0.100\c drive\app.exe

Thanks...that would work! I just need to check if "q" is hardcoded into anything. Then that would be a mess. Any ideas on what to do if that is the case?

I do not know much about oracle, but wouldn't it be easier to use two unc paths, like:

\\200.0.0.100\c drive\app.exe \\200.0.0.120\d drive\forms\xxx

Just hope it isn't hardcoded, if it is, hopefully you have access to the source code and can correct it. That is a very poor way to write code and out to be outlawed!!!

Good luck and Happy Holidays.

We have several apps that require a mapped drive, and we found that even if the user mapped the drive and told it to restore the mapping, citrix still couldn't see this mapped drive. We used kixstart from the nt4 resource kit and made statements such as "if in xxx group, then map Q:\[server]\[shared folder]. We put users in the referenced group for their app and it works great. We made a batch file called kix.bat and it referenced the above file named kixstart.kix. We put the kix.bat reference in the user profile as the file to run for their logon script.
