Hi,

We are currently running CM1 on a G3r and are looking to upgrade to CM4/5 on S87xx servers.

Will the map-d work with CM4 / 5 and will upgrading have any impact on the operation of the links? / will our existing call recording kit still work ok on CM4 as long as we re-use the existing map-d?

Any input greatly appreciated as we have been told that we will have to replace the map-d and purchase new cti licences which would probably also mean upgrading our call recording platform.

Thanks in advance

Dave

I think you will need to replace the MAP-D with an AES, the MAP-D may actually work but would not be supported, and if it went bang you wouldn't be able to replace it

The MAP-D is supported and works fine in a CM 4.0 environment. As I understand it, Avaya will not support a MAP-D in CM 5.0 but is not saying that it won't work.

Definitely no issue at all on CM4. "Unsupported" on CM5 is generally not an issue or a show stopper on most things but seeing that you are migrating from a G3R to S87xx, there "may" be an issue if they wont migrate it. You are giving them a lot of money so I can't see them refusing.

I was told that MAP-D was not supported in CM4 but I did use it and it was fine. However, in the interests of future proofing we did invest in the AES server and it connects to our CTI and wfm exactly the same as the MAP-D. Watch out though if you are using DLG to connect as licenses are very expensive on the AES compared to TSAPI.

We just upgraded from CM2 to CM4 with a map-d and it wasn't even mentioned. Worked flawlessly.

Unfortunately, DLG is the most used application and the one that Avaya wants to get away from the most.

I have a client that has been 4.0 for a year that has a MapD. There has been no problems with this being in the configuration. We also have AES implemented but not replacing the MapD yet. We got pricing for license's and it will be $78,000 to replace the MapD. We have taken the notion to get another MapD and provision it for a hot swap in the intern that the MapD goes south. MapD's not being supported does not mean that they will no longer work just that if you have a problem they will not help. Take charge and get another MapD and let the customer that you support budget for the .lic on AES.

Thanks!

Thankyou all for your replies!

I was being pushed down the AES route however we hadn't budgeted for it.

I think we are going CM4 as we also didn't budget for the increased support costs of CM5

Thanks again
