Hi,

I've had a quick look on here and online but without a great deal of luck.

I have a table that has 2 fields AutoID (autonumber) and AppID (number).

I want the AppID field in a new record to increment by 1 from the previous AppID when a new record is added.

On the form, I already have a button that the user hits to enter the date onto a new record, so any actions can be assigned to that button if that makes life a little easier?

All help is, as ever, most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Thanks Remou, I've had a look on google and found websites such as this that explain how to set it up. I've followed these steps and similar things from 4 or 5 other websites but can't seem to get it to work at all.

Every single one I try appears to make no difference to the App field in my table but doesn't throw up any VB errors either?

A simple guide to DMax syntax would be really handy.... ;-)
