Manually force ESS

"Below are the procedures I use for the ESS testing.Before starting, do a save translations all command.Test procedures
1.. Log into the ESS server
2.. status ess port ( this will show the port network connections )
3.. type: get forced-takeover ipserver-interface all
4.. status ess ports again to see connections
5.. test all connections and voice recording capabilities.
6.. reverse procedures for recovering the port networks to the Main servers.
7.. log into the Main server
8.. type: get forced-takeover ipserver-interface all
9.. statue ess ports
10.. display alarms"

I would think IF you have VoIP phones registering to PE you'll have split registrations. I suppose it depends on their gatekeeper list.

Disable nr-registration xx (network region) on CM is handy when testing failover at locations.

You could pull the LAN connections of the master servers.

Truely test it by disconnecting the WAN or network gateway/route.

When saving your translation do a list sur and ensure it's updating before starting.

I'm going to remove the cables from the main server to the switch. To get it out of ESS anything more I would have to force back over?
