Hello there,

I am looking for a command to manually expire all tape images on a piece of media so that it may be re-used for a fresh backup.

Is this the correct command to use? :
bpexpdate -m <TapeNumber> -d 0 -host <MediaServer> -force

If so, does it leave the media in it's original pool?

Many thanks,
Gurnsy

The command and syntax is correct.
The tape will be placed in the scratch pool when you run this in NetBackup versions starting at 4.5_FP5.

Prior to NetBackup 4.5_FP5 it will remain in the pool it was originally in.

Many thanks indeed stumpr!

The information about the tape being moved to the scratch pool post v4.5_FP5 is valuable.
(Are there additional options which instruct the tape to be left in its original pool in this version, or is this no longer possible?)

Regards,
Gurnsy
